The Rio Baker
Born from the largest lake in the Patagonia (Lake General Carrera), the largest river in Patagonia (The Rio Baker)has trout fishing to match. Turquoise waters of the Baker leave noone unmoved and the road through the Chilean Patagonia to your destination is the best way to get a feel for this vast unsettled land. Everything is big in Patagonia—the landscapes and the fishing.
A turquoise torrent born in the glacial fed but extremely productive nearby Lake Bertrand, the Baker rocks through the first mile, with ten foot standing waves, and boulder strewn banks before mellowing out in a fish filled island strewn flat. All that current and power makes Baker Bows and Browns some of the hardest fighting fish in the country. And this is a fishy country.
The Big Baker is in constant change through the season. From a sky blue filled to the brim giant, to a multichannel gravel and sand bar braid, the river is always fishable and full of aquatic life, and trout.
The rainbows await the caddis hatch and turn the river to a boil in an instant….and the ambush Browns stalk the shorelines for any critter straying from the shallows, even fish of modest size press their advantage in the current.
Río Cochrane
The gin clear waters of the Rio Cochrane hide little. And that’s the challenge…you will see the monster trout, but they see as well. This cast-across river is one to wade by braille while you get used to the clarity—or float your hat. The Cochrane is also a test of strategy and technique, but with some help from a guide, and just a touch of luck, you might connect you with the fish of dreams.
As both rivers flow from big patagonian lakes, for the flyfisher of still waters, this área is almost Paradise...but just because you can see the giants cruising the shallows, doesn’t mean that you can hook or land them.
The lodge is on the banks of one of the most productive stretches of the Baker. With a dining room to look forward to, and world class infrastructure, all lodge windows watch and listen to the passing of one of the last giants of the Patagonia…for a little longer.

El Río Baker
Nacido del lago más grande de la Patagonia (Lago General Carrera), el río más grande de la Patagonia (El Río Baker) tiene una pesca de trucha a la altura. Las aguas turquesas del Baker no dejan indiferente a nadie y la carretera que atraviesa la Patagonia chilena hasta su destino es la mejor manera de hacerse una idea de esta vasta tierra despoblada. Todo es grande en la Patagonia: los paisajes y la pesca.
El Baker, un torrente de color turquesa que nace en el lago Bertrand, alimentado por los glaciares pero extremadamente productivo, se agita durante la primera milla, con olas de tres metros de altura y orillas sembradas de cantos rodados, antes de suavizarse en una llanura repleta de peces. Toda esa corriente y potencia hace que las arcos y marrones del Baker sean algunos de los peces más difíciles de pescar del país. Y este es un país de peces.
El Big Baker está en constante cambio a lo largo de la temporada. Desde un gigante azul celeste lleno hasta el borde, hasta una trenza multicanal de grava y barras de arena, el río siempre es pescable y está lleno de vida acuática, y de truchas.
Las arcoíris esperan la eclosión de los caddis y hacen hervir el río en un instante.... y los marrones emboscados acechan las orillas en busca de cualquier bicho que se aleje de los bajíos, incluso peces de tamaño modesto presionan su ventaja en la corriente.
Río Cochrane
Las aguas claras del Río Cochrane esconden poco. Y ese es el desafío... usted verá las truchas monstruosas, pero ellas también ven. Este río de lance es uno para vadear por braille mientras se acostumbra a la claridad-o flotar su sombrero. El Cochrane también es una prueba de estrategia y técnica, pero con algo de ayuda de un guía, y sólo una pizca de suerte, podría conectar con el pez de los sueños.
Como ambos ríos fluyen desde grandes lagos patagónicos, para el pescador con mosca de aguas tranquilas, esta zona es casi un paraíso... Pero el hecho de que pueda ver a los gigantes surcando los bajíos, no significa que pueda engancharlos o desembarcarlos.
El lodge se encuentra a orillas de uno de los tramos más productivos del Baker. Con un comedor a la vista, y una infraestructura de clase mundial, todas las ventanas del lodge miran y escuchan el paso de uno de los últimos gigantes de la Patagonia.... por un poco más de tiempo.
